The International Federation of Environmental Health has selected the following theme for World Environmental Health Day (September 26, 2024, corresponding to the 5th of Mehr this year): "Creating Resilient Communities through Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation."

According to the Public Relations Office of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, the Institude for Environmental Research, this year's theme for World Environmental Health Day, "Creating Resilient Communities through Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation," emphasizes the necessity of managing risks associated with climate change and natural disasters. Climate change has led to increased intensity and frequency of natural hazards, posing significant negative impacts on public health. Community resilience against these hazards requires strategic planning for disaster risk reduction and enhancing adaptation capacity to climate change. Key actions include developing resilient health infrastructures, strengthening early warning and forecasting systems, and raising public awareness about the environmental and health impacts of these hazards.
